You would think by now that Lori's family would have had her committed to an institution where she could get better instead of in a home where she is falling apart...literally. Lori's already had a bad brush with a knife in the last few months and she refuses to go to the hospital. From what I've heard, that laceration may have come from a failed suicide attempt...knowing Lori, that is a possibility if she thinks that Missy Erickson would be "leaving her". Another possibility is that the knife she was using to "cut a ring off of her finger" slipped and cut her pinky off...it's very sketchy thinking to cut a ring off with a knife in the first place.
As you know, Lori demands that her friends not tell the truth. This may have been a botched suicide attempt made to look like something else. That's sad. You know only real friends would have the courage to know what is really the best for someone they cared about. It is important that the people around her stop being so compliant with her every demand if she is in danger of hurting herself. Ever since Missy moved in, this has been a problem. Missy likes to cover for Lori all the time...they do have motives for doing this together...like Arizona bail situations. Only Lori and her friends know if she tried to end her pain with a horrible suicidal act.
Missy is definitely lying if she tells people that she's never heard of Lori wanting to kill herself, if she should leave her. (They aren't really in a relationship that's involved with Love or sex)
The choice not to seek medical attention is a very bad one for a person with HIV that is ravaging her body that uses crystal meth. Her arm isn't even the shooting arm, this one is on her right hand. She's even had a nurse from our area look at the laceration and she offered to take Lori to the hospital. Lori refused. She's embarrassed by the medical problems that she has and is afraid that she won't be able to get back to her computer in time to hurt someone else.
I'll leave this up to all of you.
What I've found out is that it isn't easy to commit an adult child to a facility without outside information and support. For example, other reports of her behavior while she is on drugs. Examples of violence and violent behavior. Examples where she has fantasized jobs or relationships that didn't really exist. Examples of how she has been towards her brother or Missy. All of these things combine to allow Lori's family to seek attention for her mental and physical issues. Afterall, it's not just whether or not Lori is a danger to others, it's if she is a danger to herself. We all know how precious Lori is to everyone....um, er, well...I mean life is precious in all its forms right?
Maybe you could help Lori into a situation if you had a story where she has shown herself to be a danger to her person. Does anyone out there care enough about Lori to get her into a facility that can fix her up? I do. I would do that for anyone that has been "crying for help" as much as she has been lately. She used to have her father for these things, but his passing has only made her drug use worse.
Now don't get me wrong here Lori, I care for human beings....you aren't special to me any more than anyone else that has a life. Maybe this is one way to salvage the life that your body still has. Besides, Missy is also a great big mess...and that could be done for her too.
