Not that the defending NBA Champions aren't having a good time in the off season, but one of the things that they apparently will not be doing is visiting the ALL White House...good for you guys! Seriously. Good for you!
You play for a city of equality. When you do that, you represent more than just an NBA team. That means you have a responsibility to your fans that extends beyond what the NBA may or may not understand. It's an ideal. First of all...GOLDEN STATE, refers to CALIFORNIA, not just the Bay area of the State of California, but I'll let that go. When you represent Oakland, San Francisco and all of the surrounding areas, you have minorities...and lots of them to represent. LGBTQ, black, Hispanic and a whole myriad of people that belong to the beautiful mixing pot that is California's most beautiful and accepting city area. Not going to the White House for a meet and greet with the most controversial man in politics, is probably not high on your fans' list. They pay the bills, they cheer you on. They deserve your best.
I think that a visit to the Governor's office would suffice much better anyway.
I'm proud of you all...it may ultimately look like Mr. Trump's decision, but I know how you all were feeling about this anyway. I read the papers.
