This is my friend Justin Honard aka "Alaska", a drag superstar and all around nice person. If you have been fortunate enough to watch RuPaul's Drag Race, you've seen his work. What you don't get to see is the entire package...which includes all of the work that goes into becoming one of the really nicest people in the LGBTQ community along with many of the other great people on this Emmy Award winning television show. This is a job within a job. It's hard work and it is something that I admire even if someone like Laurie doesn't.
I want to take a few seconds today to say thanks to the people that work on RuPaul's Drag Race and on other television shows that spend the time to support my team. There are a lot of you. We support so many different people in their endeavors but you've given your time in your busy schedules to encourage us to go for something so important while having to hear Laurie do her thing. I know it isn't pleasant. I know she's not a very nice person to hear. I know she says things that nobody else says. I know she is doing it to get your attention and you aren't amused.
Thank you for your patience. Thank you for seeing through her illusion. Thank you for understanding that our community is needing more people out there like "Alaska" trying to do "good work" on behalf of the LGBTQ crowd so that equality is a more realistic goal. We need to be out there to be in there....if you can understand.
For those of you that know what I am going through, thanks for understanding that it isn't easy. I want Laurie to leave all of you alone too. She doesn't have a right to hate you for supporting me either. She just can't seem to do anything for herself that doesn't involve me somehow. Why does everything in her life revolve around me???
