When I made the decision to become a police informant for the Palm Springs Police Department in early May of 2008, with Christopher Monti, I did so fully understanding what the rules and protections of that job were. I've seen police informant done many times in the federal court. I've seen it done extremely well. I know the pitfalls and I know how it is done with professionalism and respect. I knew that I had to obey the laws and have done so. This is a very unconventional way of performing informant work, but given the nature of the crime of remote neural monitoring, the threats that I received from officers at the PSPD (Villegas, Daugherty, Chief Reyes and others). I needed a place where information could get to my police contact without having to have contact with other officers at the PSPD that were implanted with these devices. I realized that if I was working for the PSPD and I uncovered evidence that they were involved in the crime that I was obligated then to the citizens of the County of Riverside and the State of California to continue my work as an informant.
As an informant, I made the decision to employ others inside of this organization and outside to go into the organization to gather evidence of this crime. I assigned them roles and they gathered evidence of organized crime against Laurie, Brian and others committing the crime of organized stalking and electronic harassment. Those individuals names are confidential and will be made available as necessary. Two of those individuals were not Missy or Bessie Smith. These two women, over the course of my investigation, were found to be questionable in their conduct along with another man in the obstruction of my investigation with members of my team and other witnesses. They repeatedly tried to put me in situations that compromised my safety and the safety of my partner, Christopher Monti. I feared for his life, his family's lives, my family's life all the while knowing that the pair of women were in contact with Laurie and had a questionable past with her. "Do not help Kevin or his family," remains a policy that is enforced wherever the pair is. I've found their participation to be a criminal act against me now and many times in the past.
For some unknown reason, Jeffrey decided that "if we were all friendly with the pair" that we would all benefit from their presence. I disagree and want him to meet something. It's known as the "Son of Sam" Law. In 2001, the State of New York adopted a law that is designed to keep criminals from profiting from the publicity of their crimes in movies, books or interviews. So, in short, deciding the fate of 650 gay men is a ridiculous stall tactic used against my team in favor of two women that Jeffrey has developed some kind of odd personal relationship with over his own son's friends. We've worked so hard inside and outside of this organization for the police in San Diego and Palm Springs that I can't imagine what he would want us to jeopardize our standing with these two questionable women for. There is no way they haven't put my life in further danger and Anthony and Jonathan's lives were both put in danger in Sedona, Arizona as well. These are key informants for the police departments. There isn't any reason why we should consider these women to be anything but suspicious or involved with Laurie. I won't work with them in any capacity. Neither has shown a capacity to do anything but put my family in grave danger for almost twenty five years... I've almost been killed two or three times. My brother in law IS dead. There hasn't been a single effort by either to do anything but keep that truth from coming forward. In fact both suggested to others NOT TO SAY ANYTHING TO SDPD! That is a fact.
