My Inspiration: Judge William B. Enright's Memorial and Inns of Court! I Hope This Explains Why I Am Who I Am, And Why I Do What I Do!
I wanted everyone to hear and see the person who I learned legal ethics. Courtroom process and criminal trials were understood at this level, from this man, at the pinnacle of his career. When I tell people that I am a law-and-order kind of person, I want them to understand that, for me, there is no other way.
Hon. William B. Enright was the James Earl Jones of the District Court. He was well thought out, well spoken, extremely prepared, and a terrific person to know. He was kind, fair, and a joy to work with every day I was in the courtroom with him.
Even Hon. Irma E. Gonzalez, another judge I worked with, was this type of person. She was the first Latina appointed to the federal bench and someone whom I absolutely enjoyed working for.
The caliber of man, caliber of judge, and caliber of human being that was Hon. William B. Enright is a standard for me. I investigate this crime of electronic harassment with his image in my mind and his advice in my heart. You only had to meet him once to feel his impact. I was lucky enough to see it every day for years. What a great way to show you who I learned the law from. Ethics are everything. Reputation matters. Justice is blind but fair. I hope this makes you all understand that my sense of humor is part of why I try to bring you such a difficult case with dignity and purpose. It is important to do good work. Work hard. Know that there are highs and lows. Passion and purpose lead the way to a successful trial. I hope this explains to police, Commissioners, and parents who I was shaped by.
