There was one point in my rape case where the Chief of Police, Bryan Reyes took me downstairs at his department headquarters to look at the Riverside Crime Lab Report on my case. Yes, I actually saw this report and it was approximately 9 pages long front and back of the report. There were definitely suspects in the case. The Chief did not give me a copy of the report which he should have done. I'm sure Lori must have reminded him that I didn't get a copy. What I saw made me very happy. There was semen in the blood found on my jeans that was not mine and other suspect's blood.
He was showing me this report to be nice to me. He even came out of the hallway with me afterwards to tell both myself and Anthony Dabiere, "Kevin you have been right on the money this whole time! We're gonna get these guys!" Now why would he say that then a year and a half later decide to tell me a completely fabricated lie? We have these conversations recorded Chief Reyes...what were you thinking???
I told him that these people were probably listening in to me right then and there too. He asked me, "Are they listening to you right now?" I said, "Probably," looking in the direction of La Palme Apartments. They were definitely listening and talking and Lori was upset. The point is that both Anthony and I both saw and heard the Chief of Police lie to me. The recorded conversation is his voice talking to me.
A year and a half later he called me on the phone. Lori had already served me with that bogus restraining order and he said, this is a direct quote, "We got the DNA results back from the lab, all the DNA on the jeans was yours. There is nothing more this department can do for you." I was pissed off but I knew he was lying because I'd seen the first report with my own two eyes. We also have a copy of that lab report because his own snoop, Lori, had one sent to her from someone inside the department. She sent it to Jonathan long before they ever showed me the first report.
Now my attorney has a copy of that report and she isn't happy. This could have repercussions in all kinds of cases that went to the Riverside Lab from all over Riverside County. They obviously spent a ton of time on the first report, and the second, which the Chief told me about but never showed or provided me with, denied everything the first report said. The Chief of Police never even saw my smashed skull. The MRI's were stolen from the emergency room twice, and, I didn't see them until years later when my father was in the hospital having kidney problems, as I reported on this blog. So the Chief of Police was set up and he failed. Stung, by the police informant that he screwed over.
Lori would then stalk me to Arizona to try to kill me and my friends. Yes, I am not lying.
A crime lab that spends that much time on the first report, not to mention money, should have entered the DNA into the database. They know I was the victim and other DNA gives suspects. Lori's had hers taken several times. This could have serious repercussions for thousands of criminal defendants throughout Riverside County if the second report was a tampered with version of the first or they recounted everything they said. You see you don't finalize a report and send it just to change it. That means that the lab made a mistake and mistakes in court are reasonable doubt. That means that rape cases from all over the county can now call that lab into question. New trials, new testing of old evidence, contamination...all bad things for the Riverside crime lab.
Unfortunately for the Chief of Police I have a tremendously talented attorney that knows how to exploit this kind of coverup or mistake. Either way, she isn't one to let a lab go down that way if the Chief made his own decision or the lab fucked up or both.
He's going to need more than luck this time...
