When you represent a minority of minorities, you have the obligation to seek out heroes that your members can relate to and be proud of. This is June, LGBTQ Pride Month and while we are in the middle of seeking justice for the black community in this country, I'd like to give the black members of our community the opportunity to show others the heroes from the black gay community that made a difference for ALL BLACK LIVES!
This was the first blog header that I did for this necessary privilege...followed by Dr. King's friend Bayard Rustin. The man who Organized the 1963 March on Washington for Freedom and Jobs. I want all of the people that support this project to know that what appears to be a civil rights project for the gay community of Palm Springs is really more for the entire world. The freedom to think for ourselves. I want you all to know that I 100% support the Black Lives Matter protesters, but I want everyone to understand that it includes the black members of the LGBTQ community. If Black Lives Matter, then ALL BLACK LIVES MATTER!!!
