So I spent the morning with my mom and then had lunch with my dad. Everyone can relax, my mom isn't in any kind of physical danger...but mentally we have a situation. I love this picture above because it represents what it is like for a mom and her son. Mom's and son's have traditionally close relationships in my experience. I am very aware that my feelings about my mom are stronger than ever. It's about learning about them, what they are like and what they aren't like. The choice to be a part of her life is a commitment that, as a son, I honor.
Right now we've been looking at this situation as something that we have to change, but the truth is that she can't change so we have to. We can't do anything but that. There is no other option but to love and honor the person that has always been there for our family.
