Here's the T, Hunty...as in Taylor. You got to give it to our pal Jesse Tyler Ferguson for bringing his friend, and ours, Taylor Swift, to perform at The Stonewall Inn, in NYC two nights ago. As you all know, we love Taylor and all the "Swifters" that go around and do nice things for people in need. This is the 50 year anniversary of the Stonewall Inn riots and big performances by the best artists like Madonna and Taylor show our community that there is a lot of good going on out there during Pride Month and all the time!
Kudos to T.Swift and all of her friends that do their level best to make a difference for as many people as they can. I am so proud to be a friend of Taylor's, she makes me smile.
Here's how she did it! So much fun and energy! Thanks to Jesse Tyler Ferguson who is executive producing "Stonewall Forever" a documentary about the Stonewall riots and the future of the gay community as this movement changed the landscape for LGBTQ rights. Keeping Queer spaces up and running is a priority for our community especially landmarks like the Stonewall Inn and others. I too believe in the institutions that allow for the gathering of the LGBTQ community that taught me how to be a community member in good standing. Today's LGBTQ youth have options for meeting other queer folks, but we need to have safe environments for our kids...you know how I feel about online stuff in the Age of Lori LaFond. Our community is so loving that predators exist looking for an easy target. Our numbers don't produce as fast as other communities. When we lose a life to a hate crime, it's like losing ten lives in another minority. We can't stand for this!!!
