When Laurie and Missy go out clubbing, it's not exactly the same kind of thing when you are near your 50+'s as it was in their 20's. They're in to a different kind of club...one that they carry with one hand and drag a man around afterwards. Missy's kind of more subtle with her swing, but Laurie tends to use a more glass bottle to the head approach. By the time these men wake up, they are so deeply involved in this bullshit, they have to keep their mouths shut. That's no way to treat a man or a woman. You see, plotting and planning to overthrow someone's family by involving them in some kind of "plan to involve them in something illegal" isn't legal. Once they are involved and they can't get themselves into a position to get themselves free, they are in a position to help or keep their mouths shut...both of those are illegal as well.
What I want to explain to all of you is that it is so much more important to explain to someone that you are in that very position than to keep quiet or go along with something. When you don't explain your position to someone, you run the risk of prosecution. In my experience, if you keep hurting someone to keep them from knowing the truth, you've stepped into quicksand that never seems to harden up to get out of. Certainly, you can say you have the best of intentions, but if your actions don't match up with your words, you aren't going to escape the drowning sand effect.
Just a suggestion to all of you that think silence is golden...it isn't. It's deadly to others and that is a crime in and of itself.
