So, if you could tell a law enforcement officer something about what Laurie did to you, said to you or threatened you with, without the fear of being arrested, what story would you tell? I'm only looking for truthful experiences of "blackmail" or "extortion" or silence. It has always concerned me that too many of these targets have been lulled into silence knowing what the police have done to other victims of her crimes.
What did Laurie do to you to keep you from telling the truth? What horrible thing did she lie about to keep you from coming forward? What was it that kept you from protecting other? Are you still afraid that something that you got involved with could get you in trouble with the law? (Jackson Velin's home perhaps, Steven?) I can guarantee you that there is a defense in this situation that will keep you out of further problems.
Crimes of extortion or blackmail, supersede the truth being found out; this means that they are far worse than the crime itself. If you were forced into a situation without informed consent, then you have the right to tell law enforcement that you were being threatened. You need to protect other people from what Laurie and Brian did to you; it looks heroic and shows remorse too. The gay community needs honesty in this situation so that we all can survive. Selfishness is only going to perpetuate your own torture forever. Think about honesty...it will work.
