The Way I See It: You've Got Two Choices Sink or Swim

Wanting, very much, to be able to thank Elton John and people that put so much effort into saving my life in terms of HIV infection and with his music, sort of like a medication cocktail, I sat down tonight and watched David Furnish's "Tantrums and Tiaras" which I like to call "Tampons and Tiaras", to see what life is really like for Elton...albeit on the road.

What I thought I would come away with was a better understanding of Elton...which I think I did...he makes me laugh, but more important was what life with someone like him must be like for David Furnish.  The commitment that it took to get some of that stuff on film must have really been difficult.  I know how I get...tantrums without tiaras...I wonder how hard what I've been doing is on Christopher.  I know that dedicating this project to Christopher and his family, was a risk...to him, to them and to our friendship, yet it was important.  I think you do that for someone that you want to love you.  I think you let it hang out there in the hopes that it will be returned and I could see that in Elton...very good thing for me to see.

So while I tried to prepare myself for the sunshine (and possibly the storm) that can be Elton John (love you), what I realized is that to do this right I have to lean on Christopher.  I'm some kind of 30 year reality star without any of the pay or fortune...and while Elton has 30 plus years in the music industry...he has a record of being successful that allows him to breathe...I don't.  All I have is what I think is a life well lived under auspicious circumstances...so I'm left to wonder, is that enough?

Trust me David and Elton, neither of you, on your worst day, is Laurie on her best...she's a right c---!

Thanks David and Christopher for making me understand what standing behind the camera must have been like (still is) for you...this is your song!
