What I am working on today and tonight is the crux of the scam used by Laurie and Brian LaTweek to infect and shame an entire community into silence, extortion and blackmail using HIV as a weapon. Most people think that the worst part of this crime has to do with the loss of privacy....but that is only the very fringe of the problem. The subsequent use of the information gained by the operators in our area has been used for decades to shame gay men and women into silence. Nobody should be made to fear their sexual past....nobody.
What emotional blackmail has done to the community of Palm Springs is like taking the hope out of the community...the sparkle that once was opportunity is now drowned out by the fear of being prosecuted for something that wasn't anyone's fault but the operators of this crime.
I will be exploring some of the finer points of this disgusting game of disease and blackmail...for all of you to understand.
