Sometimes You Just Have To Put It Out There So The Universe Knows How Happy You Are!!!

When I was just learning to do what I did as a courtroom deputy clerk, there was one guy that took me under his wing and taught me the job.  He was like Opie Taylor and he introduced me to his beautiful wife whose name was appropriately "Sunny".  They were my neighbors in Burlingame and lived across the street from my friend Art.

When you are gay there are a few role models that you take from heterosexual couples and from gay men that have reached a certain level of achievement. Art was Sunny and John Morrill's best friend from across the street and we all became very close friends.

Tonight while working on this project I discovered an amazing achievement that I wanted to acknowledge...my mentor is now the Clerk of Court for the Southern District of California, a huge achievement that couldn't have been better placed.  John Morrill is one of my best friends in the whole wide world and his approach to life, love and work inspired me to become a better person.  His wife inspired me to be an even better gay man with her unconditional love and spirit for living life.  A beautiful couple that I am so happy for I just had to write about it.

I use to house sit for them whenever they would ask and I would walk out into Sunny's garden and think to myself, what a beautiful place to be.

To my golfing buddy John, I know you are the right person for people to learn from...and the right person to be in charge.  I only wish that I was still working with you and that you were still my neighbor.  Life, then as now, was beautiful being your friend.

I miss you and Sunny terribly, but I am doing amazing work on something that you would be very proud of.

My love and congratulations to the both of you...keep spreading your love so that others can be inspired, it works.

I will always wonder how much better life would have gotten if I stayed in San Diego and worked with John and Sunny...some regrets, but life moves on.
