Laurie and Brian need more meth like they need another hole in their brains. The reason that neither of them can ever be happy isn't because people won't do things for them or because Jonathan Mendenhall hates them both, it's physiological. They've been using meth for soooooo long that their brains have holes in them. It's impossible to avoid. You can see what it looks like for an 8 year avid user on the right...big holes where pieces of their brains use to be. This is the kind of damage that keeps either of them from ever experiencing happiness. It isn't because nobody wants to have sex with them...even if someone were that desperate, they still couldn't concentrate or enjoy it...they don't have the capacity....because the parts of the brain that they need for happiness, is missing...gone...and if they stopped, it would return, but the pleasure centers would be blocked from receiving the dopamine they would need to make them happy.
Then there are the other physical ailments that come from extended meth use...which look like this....pretty isn't she. Can't you imagine having sex with her???
