By now, most of you have taken a look at the incredible true crime movie, "Monster," starring Charlize Theron and Christina Ricci. The tragic and horrifying story of Aileen Wournos and Tyria Moore. Although the story told in "Monster" is much different than the one we have in our lives, there are themes that make people wonder, "Is Melissa Erickson the Christina Ricci to Lori Jean LaFond's, Charlize Theron?"
Now we know from "Monster" that both Aileen Wournos and Tyria Moore have some issues with their sexuality. They were "girlfriends" who had a sexual relationship that Wournos would not really admit to as "lesbian". Tyria, on the other hand, had sexuality issues too, but seemed to be a bit more comfortable with the girl-on-girl situation.
While Aileen is now deceased, her story of sexual abuse and abuse by men is used as a causational reason for why she went on her killing spree. From 1989 to 1990, Wournos was working as a prostitute/hustler when she shot and killed seven men along a Florida highway. Aileen, a sexual abuse victim since childhood, would rob the men and shoot them, leaving them for dead, while Tyria would live off the money she stole from these "Johns". At some point, Tyria learned about the killings and continued the relationship with Aileen. So the question is, "How much different is the relationship between Melissa Erickson and Lori Jean LaFond?"
I can tell you this from my own past with Lori. Lori admitted to my friends that she was a lesbian as early as 1983, a significantly earlier period before she met Melissa Erickson. So it wasn't like Missy introduced Lori to the lifestyle. I can tell you that Lori hid out in the girls' locker room and watched these girls undress from the shadows. In some cases, she was stealing panties and would grope the girls' breasts, leaving bruises. I've actually seen the bruise fingerprints, so I know this is true.
It is also true that Lori LaFond stalked pretty girls at their homes on and off the military base. Bryan Anderson's girlfriend was stalked in military housing on the other half of the base from where Lori's family was living until Lori was kicked off the base. Before she got kicked off, Lori was already using the brain link communication system that was being tested by the USMC in Okinawa, Japan, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and in 29 Palms, California. Lori had a complete list of all the military soldiers and family members who were implanted as part of this experimental communications system!
Once kicked out of military dependence, Lori then used this system to find both the kids, usually the girls, who were military and civilian. Growing up in a small town like ours, military and civilian kids were friends, so Lori would learn about civilian kids through the mouths and ears of the military kids and families.
Lori became violent. Her stalking and peeping grew into a rage monster prior to meeting Melissa Erickson. Lori would see civilian and military kids in the local newspaper, then make up some kind of grudge that Lori would try to end with a gun. I have one friend whose mother and she were shot at through a window, then Lori returned the next day or so and did it again. Another friend of mine was having a slumber party for her younger sister, and Lori showed up with another gun and shot through the windows of that home with 10 or so kids inside. All girls. Lori would return again a few days later after spreading some "party happening" at the same home, where Lori shot up the place again. Some say she was looking for me at that party. I wasn't there, so I don't know. This is the crime for which Lori LaFond is still a fugitive, who was sentenced with a plea agreement, which is what I've heard. The rumor is that she showed up with a gun and shot at other girls' homes, too, but I can't verify at this point.
I was told that it was her brother Brian who contacted the witnesses in this case and told them that it was being handled by the military, so secrecy was important. This is why nobody knew about the crime itself, but it leaked out as these things do.
Most of the girls who were terrorized moved away, leaving Lori LaFond to still attend school even though these horrifying events took place. She would terrorize me for years, from my freshman year until graduation, using druggie friends who would try to start a fight.
Additionally, Lori would make false accusations against my father and two other fathers for child molestation. All of it was part of Lori's fantasy about pedophilia and what would happen to these families if she got away with it. She didn't. Instead, Lori would then subject the minors to more torture for not saying what she wanted them to say. She did it again in Palm Springs with Coach Steve Fabian, a former resident of 29 Palms and a very good friend of my father. So "false allegations" were already in place before Melissa Erickson met Lori.
So, as to the beginning of Lori and Melissa's "relationship", Lori was way ahead of Missy, being a criminal fugitive. Years ahead. Brian LaFond, too. Unfortunately, Lori's "lesbian" feelings did not subside in terms of "not wanting to be a lesbian but being a lesbian nevertheless." So Lori began going to the "Gentlemen's Club" In Cathedral City. That's when Lori met Missy. This was not "When Harry Met Sally". Apparently, Lori was enchanted by Missy's boobs! Yes, folks, that is all it takes when it comes to Lori Jean LaFond. Lori was also selling crystal meth that she and her brother stole from another case in 29 Palms at "Michael's Furniture". Two brothers and a sister of Lori's went to jail for that one. Lori and Brian set their own siblings up to go to jail. Sound familiar, anyone?
I will say it now and will say it again, it was Lori Jean LaFond that set up Robert Downey, Jr. to be arrested at the Merv Griffin Resort with a phone call to the police that must have said something along the lines of, "There is this actor, RDJ, who is at this resort and two girls, one named 'Melissa Erickson' is there with cocaine and a gun." RDJ was already on parole or probation, and the police went over and arrested him in a very suspicious and illegal search of his hotel room. Whether Missy Erickson was involved in the scheme is questionable. Years later, it wouldn't surprise me if they both set it up. The story is that Lori was super jealous of RDJ and Missy's acquaintance, so Lori called the police when she heard about drugs.
I've heard that RDJ had a confrontation with Lori LaFond at the Gentlemen's Club prior to this arrest. It is unconfirmed. Either way, Lori shows that she was not going to let Melissa use drugs with a man if she could help it.
It was during this time that Lori LaFond began her full assault on the "Gentlemen's Club" and the "Gay Resorts in Warm Sands". Lori wanted to cleanse Palm Springs of gay people, so she began making up stories about both places with both police departments: Palm Springs and Cat. City. Complaint after complaint would be called in until the police became a huge problem for BOTH legally established businesses. Lori was turning into the "Urban Legend of Palm Springs" in the gay communities of California. Everyone knew someone that the police had harassed, arrested, picked on, and put in prison, for crimes that Lori would make up in her head.
