The Little Black Dress Effect: It's All Fun and Games Until Someone Gets Killed In The Big 5 Parking Lot Because Of It!!!

Once you've lived through "the little black dress" theme, you know that when someone dies, then it wasn't as good an idea as you think.  Let me give you an example from the truth!

I once was working down in Palm Desert retouching up a condo for Missy's friend (though I'd never met either of the women) because a guy named Nico was introduced to me and he needed help.  So I rounded up a chop saw and other tools from my father and spent time fixing up the condo before Missy's ex and her new girlfriend moved in.  It was a long drive from 29 Palms to the condos that were across from "The Living Desert".  Nico, after a long day of work, made me stop at a friend's home, Larry, so that we could talk.

Larry was super nice.  He was a no nonsense kind of person.  Professionally he was trained as a chef.  He was really nice to me and Nico explained that he was his on again off again boyfriend.  That wasn't the truth.  In real life, additionally, he was selling crystal meth.  Larry was very straight forward with me.  I was nice to him and vice versa.  I was under the impression that Nico and he were boyfriends, sort of like Missy and Lori.   He even asked me once, "Does Nico tell you that we were boyfriends?"  My response was, "Aren't you?"  Larry was appalled!!! As is typical in Lori's lies, she told Nico to say that he was Larry's boyfriend...but it was just another Lori LaFond.

So, after a few months of knowing Larry, he and I were good friends.  I would go and visit him and we would talk.  No sex, just friends.  He liked that I had another profession and that drugs or prostitution were not really any kind of primary thing for me.  He told me, "we're better people than that, Kevin."  I knew that I felt that I was still very much in control of the investigation that I had into Lori's electronic harassment but Larry wanted me to be sure to stick to that and not become someone else.  It was sweet and he was really cool about it.

He called me up one day in 29 Palms and wanted to know if I could drive him around one day.  Lori was well aware of that phone call because she talked about it.  I told him that I was really sorry but that I wasn't able to come all the way out to Palm Desert to pick him up and drive him around on some errands.  One of the errands was Big 5...for white tennis shoes.  Larry had a thing for brand new white sneakers.  He had lots of them.  I told him that even though I wasn't available, that Nico would be a better choice.  The truth was that I had a really bad feeling about driving Larry around.  I went with that.  The suggestion would become something of a little black dress.  I didn't want to go against my gut so I suggested someone and Nico was the guy.

Later that night, I turned on the news to see that Larry had been shot and killed in the Big 5 parking lot where Lori knew he'd mentioned he needed to go.  Nico's mug shot was on the news and Larry was dead.  I cried for my friend who was a really good person inside.  I knew that Lori had a cop waiting for him in a busy parking lot to take him out.  That's suicide by cop.  From what I understand Lori said that he had a gun on him but he didn't.  Larry would have been completely blindsided.  Typical Lori LaFond ambush style.  I felt sorry for Larry's father, whom I'd never met, but that Larry was close to.

I learned from that experience that using someone as a little black dress can get them killed.  What would have happened if I didn't suggest Nico or if Larry wasn't at the Big 5 that day.  I will always regret that I couldn't have said more when I saw the news.  I certainly told my mom and dad though.  Right when I saw the news story I saw that Larry and Nico were either in trouble or dead.  What do you tell the police?

"Hey listen, I'm one of the people that Lori implanted and infected with HIV and she just set up a murder in Palm Springs?  I wasn't done figuring out who Lisa was at the time, but I was well aware that she'd set it all up.  She can do that until you know for sure because you can't just call the police and tell them that..."

That conversation is for another time, but little black dressing someone is not a good idea with a serial killer especially Lori Jean LaFond.

She used Nico's thinking to summon the police to the place where Larry went to buy tennis shoes, not sell drugs or anything like that.  Nico is also implanted for a long time.  She used him like a radar to pinpoint their location because Lori hated Larry.  She wanted to have him stopped.  He was my friend and I feel guilt for what Lori did.  I will someday talk with his father and let him know what Larry did for me.  He was really a good person in his heart.  Lori just wanted him out of the way, so she made him disappear.
