There are times when I couldn't be more proud to be a member of this community. There have been times that because of that membership, I've been treated like no other person I've ever heard of. Years and years of abuse at the hands and mouth of one very sick and twisted person that I barely even know. Her name is Lori Jean LaFond.
There really hasn't been a day since the sixth grade when Lori wasn't trying to hurt me or a member of my family. She's got an obsession that won't go away with talking, reasoning, appealing, court orders, or anything. She once got a restraining order against me then proceeded to break it before the damn thing even went to court. The temporary was still in place when she was arrested in Sedona, Arizona for having contact with two underage minors that she was ordered to stay away from. She was sitting in a jail cell because she followed me on vacation.
I don't know how many times I've begged people to stop this girl. There is a crime lab report from Riverside's own lab that shows that Lori LaFond was involved in my sexual assault and battery. Instead of prosecution, I was sentenced. I now have head injuries that will never go away. I still think of what the police chief did for her and I think..."How could you possibly let this monster go when it shows she froze her tainted blood over time just to be used in a rape?" That's Jeffrey Dahmer kind of stuff.
A postcard from my rape was sent to me in the mail. I tested positive for STD's and hadn't even had sex between appointments at the DAP. Lori is the kind of person that thinks being gay makes you a target for her violence. I think that her time in Palm Springs was simply wasted on her cleansing our community of our greatest resources...our people.
Our businesses shrunk. Our homes were devalued. Our lives were written off. Now a whole generation of people that she gave HIV to, will have to live out the rest of their lives trying to find jobs that will hire them at 60 years old because they were given a false criminal record simply for living in Palm Springs while Lori was there. Gay while living with Lori in the area.
That's like black while walking. Black while driving.
Lori was given a free, no investigation, pass to hurt people and then she went after their families. This has to be stopped and it needs to come from our community. We don't need another community to do it because then we look helpless. We don't turn away help but to heal it has to come from us.
Be proud to be from this community, but at the same time share in the responsibilities that come with it. Lori robbed as many people and got away with it as I've ever studied. I was in court a thousand times and saw people with lesser crimes prosecuted. She isn't special, she's protected. It's not fair and it isn't going to last.
