Bridget Shiel: A Case That Gave Me Some Inspiration

This is Bridget Shiel, a beautiful young woman that was found shot to death and nude in an Oakland Park in an Atlanta suburb.  The case was difficult to solve because a lack of obvious physical evidence.  This case was sad and the suspect list came with a lot of tips.  Running all that stuff down became very important for many reasons.  In the end I learned lots about stuff with Y chromosomes found inside the victim's body and what they can tell an investigator.  I also learned about R.I.P. bullets that were used to kill her.  These damn things are lethal plus.

Look at these horrible bullets.  They are made simply to kill.  They are sharp and they break apart on impact to shred the insides of a victim.  Bridget was shot 6 times with these.   Live and learn.  Remember when hollow points used to be the most deadly bullet....I think we just found their replacement.

These are Radically Invasive Projectiles....R.I.P. but you just know that the manufacturer is likening these to a death bullet with that name.  These people that make this kind of ammo...you just gotta wonder what they do to sleep at night?  Their bullets aren't exactly meant for hunting or target practice, they are meant to kill.

For Bridget Shiel, life ended running for her life from a man who is now convicted of five murders.  This is the kind of stuff that makes me feel so bad for the victims of violent crime.  Hopefully we can all learn something from this kind of case.  Bridget was a model and loved music and her brother misses her terribly.  She was a very stubborn and free spirit that tried to live life her way, but in the end the world lost a very beautiful girl that won't grow into a beautiful woman with some better choices and experience.  God bless her soul.
