One of the most intense problems that I have with this crime and how it is handled is the irresponsible way people say, "If we get caught how will we handle it?" They don't seem to realize that they are stepping on to a waterslide that may end in felonies. It's not just Lori's friends that are involved in the process, it is the victims' parents and some of the victims themselves. Because there are more of these victims on this system than there are non victims behind the computer it is easy to think, "If we can contain this, we won't get into trouble", but that is exactly why this crime has lasted as long as it has. Look the other way once, and you feel like you won't get caught, then someone else comes along, like me, and picks up the ball, then all of a sudden, when YOU LOOKED THE OTHER WAY, is a felony. Looking helpful to Lori in any case is the wrong answer. First of all it is never the first time and she won't stop, but second, she doesn't deserve a second chance (or 651st chance), to rape someone else and get away with it.
Yes, Lori's crimes are unspeakable, but if you allow her to continue, she's going to count you among her friends...which can mean a host of other problems for someone that once didn't take a report, or lied, or ignored the facts...once you've done that, she'll use it against you in her future crimes.
Oh Lori acts like she's a faux cheesecake by pretending to be like Missy Erickson and saying things like, "I'll never do it again or I've never been so mean to a person in my life," but if you know my life you know she's been like this since I was 11 years old...so yes she has never been this mean to anyone else because I've known her the longest. How many stalkers do you know to start with an 11-year-old and end with a 51-year-old man? That's 40 full years of stalking and attempts on my life and my family's, with one success and the other success has HIV since 1987. It's not like I knew who did this to me when I found out or I would have contacted the authorities. She infected me in the summer without a memory, and I didn't get sick until the wintertime. I wasn't having sex or using drugs then either...she was an unknown. How could I have told anyone? I never knew she was near me.
It was only when I started hearing from my brother in law that Lori was hating on me that I got the impression it may be her behind my stalking. She was telling him about my HIV infection which Lori tells everyone that I didn't disclose to everyone. (In 1987 or just thereafter, Ryan White, was going through his own persecution for the same thing...you didn't say anything in those days, but you also didn't infect anyone else. It was total sexual control from the beginning.) In fact, by the time of my 10-year reunion, everyone knew, from Lori that I was HIV positive and gay. There was no way I was ever going to be friendly towards her...but I also wasn't hateful either...I did my own thing and didn't think about her at all. Since I had no sexual or drug experiences with Lori, how was I to know she'd given it to me. At the time I was only being followed...no voices.
I figured she was being her nosy self, like in high school, sending people out to follow me around. That's the way all this started. So I never had any desire to see, speak with, or do drugs with Lori, under any circumstances. She was a big mouth and I was a quiet drug user. Not my style at all.
Remember though, there were a ton of people following me around, and my roommate Mindy, who was spending the year living with me from Wells College in upstate New York. We both got followed everywhere, it was weird. So who were these people and why are they important? Well, whatever they were told to follow/stalk me had to have come from Lori, I didn't even know she had a brother. So they were told to stalk me for whatever lie Lori made up. I know now that one of my friends was told it was some kind of secret police training. He did it for years and then got in trouble. He told everyone he was training to be a cop with Bryan Anderson's squad...but he was just doing surveillance for a stalker, Lori LaFond.
Try explaining that one to his fiance and her family. It wasn't pretty and it has caused friction for years. Rather than Lori leaving that situation alone, she had to keep an eye on it so she tried to drive a wedge between the guy she had stalking for her and the rest of his wife's family. If the guy that Lori had stalking people, let's call him Joe, got too close with his wife's family, they would find out that it was Lori sending him out and playing a cop with him. Lori is also the one that caused him to have an accident in the same place that I had one near Morongo. He passed out, so did I. I think we were drugged with the same knock out drug in our drink.
Years later and thousands of "gang stalkers" out following me and others around, what happens when they find out that they were used to aggravated stalk an innocent person for a criminal? This is where the situation set for solving this crime gets hazy. Someone has to stop it before there are more people doing the wrong thing for what they think is the right reason before they all have a secret they can't reveal out of fear of prosecution. The real losers end up being the victims that weren't picked up by operators so that they could protect themselves or is that wrong too.
In short, this crime is one Hell of a slippery slope. You get on the water slide and you don't know where it goes, you end up landing in a sewage container instead of a pool.
