In a late-developing storyline, it appears that Melissa and Lori plotted to scam the court in Yavapai County when Lori was arrested in Sedona for some salacious acts with a minor. Missy Erickson appears to have been acting in her "capacity" as a Katzenberg employee...to post the money for Lori and Brian's release.
The entire time this happened, Missy knew that Lori and Brian were using assumed names. This is a very big problem for Jeffrey Katzenberg whose money appears to be the money transferred to an account held by Missy Erickson to post the cash for the bond. The money is likely the result of an illegal cash transfer from a Katzenberg account. I can only imagine that employing Missy and David the Chickenhawk is now looking like the worst decision of Jeffrey's life.
I don't think that Jeffrey's father would have transferred that kind of money into Missy Erickson's account for any reason, but Lori and her friends would definitely steal it and try to make it look that way in court. Now Lori and Brian are fugitives living with their own surety knowing that they are wanted in the State of Arizona.
