We live in an age of atonement for the past. Something that may have happened half a century ago needs to be addressed by the people that committed the atrocity to the community that was harmed. Most recently the Stonewall Bar incidents and riots were addressed by the NYPD in a manner that can heal a community with hope and sincere empathy.
About ten or fifteen years later another situation would arise in the LGBTQ community far from the bright lights of Stonewall...a secret experiment of implantation, AIDS, and information gathering for the Palm Springs Police that would remain until this day in 2019. The gay community of Palm Springs was experimented upon with the support of the local police. There really was no excuse for this to happen, but it did and still goes on.
Rather than raid a bar and put the patrons in jail, this crime was committed in our homes and apartments using microwave technology developed by the United States Navy. Lori LaFond had arrived and she brought with her the ability to read minds and tattle on the gay community. She not only spilled the beans on what she said was going on, but she also embellished the Hell out of it forgetting to tell police that it was she who had the HIV and was spreading it to unconscious gay men and women.
If anyone, like me, spoke out about it, we were shamed on television, in the press, and we were arrested. In my case, I was arrested two times the day after I reported my rape then every month for five or six more months. It was clear to me, that if I was to speak out about intentional infections and electronic harassment, that there would be a HUGE price to pay for it. I paid with my very life. I never stopped telling people that this was happening, however. I wanted everyone to know what was going on in the LGBTQ community of P.S..
I also had Christopher to worry about. When I thought of the kinds of problems that he would have and that I'd already experienced, I wasn't thrilled will that prospect of Lori having another person to bother. So I went for it.
When more of my friends were hurt, I worked harder.
Now we are in a situation where we have the proof that the police are involved and they know what they've done...it's time for some atonement and justice.
