We all know that the dysfunctional co-dependent relationship between Lori LaFond and Missy Erickson has lots of complications for the gay community of Palm Springs, California. Outside of their negativity and their seemingly endless supply of meth, what else is really going on there?
You can clearly see with Lori that she has this obsession with my friends and people that I know. What is worse is that they are women that are completely void of an off switch...which means that when their emotions run hot, they tend to take out their frustration with each other on men.
My relationship with Christopher (and for a long while with Steven Frey) seems to set them off. Rather it seems to set Lori LaFond off and Missy seems to use it. I want to be very clear here, it was Lori that approached these men as I moved back into the area, but it was Missy that always tried to smooth things over for Lori when she, as she always does, messed it up. It would seem that Lori has a really dark side that Missy uses when things get out of control, not that Lori wouldn't anyway, but the pair seem to connect on a "mean" level. According to Lori, "Missy isn't that nice, to begin with, but nobody really was looking there in the first place." We know Missy to be self-absorbed so why are my relationships so central to her survival?
Whether or not Missy is nice or mean isn't really the issue. It's that she continues to put herself in positions to help Lori, when Lori keeps fucking it up. This whole time that I've tried to be with Christopher, Lori has had it out for him. It's really not understandable that Lori would force me not to be friends with Steven Frey, because she had a "thing" for him, but then Christopher is a completely different person.
It seems that the pair bond over hurting me physically, mentally, socially and spiritually. It's like the "thing that turns them on" or at least Lori thinks it is. The fact remains, however, that Missy, just like Lori's high school friend Julie, seems to always be around when it happens. It's like some kind of attention thing and both of them like it, then hate it. There are a lot of psychological problems going on inside the two of them.
Lori gets some kind of thrill out of performing sadistic acts in front of people that are shocked and enabling her. People that she has hurt in the past. It's like a constant reminder of what she can do to them if they don't do what she wants. Most of these people have been implanted and infected by her and her brother, yet they remain there without even thinking about what other people go through with Lori...it's an odd circumstance. She's literally found the ONLY people that will accept, or enable, her predator actions. Missy is the worst one of all.
