Here's Why Dan IS the Man!!! Definitely Friend Material Here!!!

If you know how I am, you know that I look for certain kinds of inspiration from certain individuals that I think embody what humanity is really suppose to be like.  Sometimes it comes from people whose belief system goes against what they have inside themselves.  I think that there are a lot of LGBTQ people that are out there that know what I am talking about.  I was raised Catholic and I know how the church feels about that, even though they've made some surprising changes with the new Pope.

I've seen it all kinds of different ways, but it is always terrific when someone from outside our community has a similar experience and that helps them to understand gay people better.  I admire that kind of courage and wisdom.  Nobody can change who they are inside, no matter how hard they try.  When a religious belief from an Orthodox church conflicts with the person that you are, there can be a lot of guilt and shame.

This again is Dan Reynolds.  I am so proud of what he has to say in this interview and the kind of understanding that he's given to LGBTQ youth within his church and outside of it as well.  Love is love and you shouldn't have to die for it to be accepted.  It's so odd that hate is tolerated so much better than the love between two men or two women or two women and a man...etc.  Hate takes it out on people like us and all too often the punishment doesn't fit the crime.  It is intolerable that anyone should be beaten or killed because of love.  It to me is like war in the name of God.  God is about love, not war.  At least that's how I am on the insidel

I am so proud to be a new Imagine Dragons fan.  This is one heck of a quality band that has been around for a while that I've just discovered for myself.  I can't get it off of my stereo.  Add to that, that they also are caring about what is going on in this country with our LGBTQ youth is even more impressive.  Thanks, Ellen for giving Dan the time to explain what he's doing and what he's been through.  Obviously he's up high on my list of people that I'd like to be friends with, with Christopher.  We all could be better at explaining ourselves...I too never speak ill of the Catholic church for all it's shaming, I still believe in Christ.

Dan, you guys are terrific...I hope the concert goes well.   Love to meet your whole band.
