Every once in a while I am angry with myself for taking so long to recognize a band that everyone loves that I've just not had the time to sit down and listen to. If you aren't a fan of Imagine Dragons, it is probably because you haven't heard them before, there is no other excuse.
I was reading a story about the unusually high suicide rate among Mormon LGBTQ youth and saw that this guy above and his band, Imagine Dragons are doing something about it. LoveLoud is a concert on July 28, 2018 in Salt Lake City, Utah that benefits the LGBTQ youth of Utah and organizations like the Trevor Project and others.
When I read the article about Dan Reynolds, I realized, once again, how generous people that support our community can be. It takes us ten times longer to create a gay person after every single one dies. Only one in ten babies is LGBTQ...if we lose one, we lose a life that takes ten times longer to replace in numbers, but we can never replace their soul. There is no need for such a high suicide rate in our minority and it is largely because of bullying, pressure and an unwillingness to understand that gay is not a choice, it is part of who we are.
Dan, you and your band make some of the best music I've ever heard and if you've heard of me, you know I listen to a ton of music. I know you are friendly with Ashley, Gerry, Josh and Tyler....you should join us and celebrate music out here in California sometime. We'd love to have you here. I would love to shake your hands and ask if we could be friends. I can help you with what I am sure is a ton of email...and in return we'd like to share our community with you.
I can't stop listening to your CD's...I bought two today and am on the lookout for the others.
Sorry it took so long...believe me, I was wrong to wait. The best band I've heard since twenty-one pilots!!!!
