Isolation after isolation, drive after drive into the lane...and for some reason, we've already beaten this kind of team before. I wanted to let Klay and the guys know that it's all about hustle right now...and doing what a champion does to win ballgames.
I don't need to remind y'all what it feels like to have not accomplished something that SHOULD BE yours...but I do remember what it was like at the Olympics after that season that ended the wrong way. Last year there was no doubt that what happened in the previous final was a fluke, but now you are faced with a similar challenge BEFORE it happens. There is no way you can tell me that the two people that you are currently struggling with are better than James and Irving. They simply aren't.
Instead of taking advantage of your team play, you are being beaten by solo artists. Is this the end of "team" as the better winner? I hope not. Teams that win championships impose their will on other teams and they don't care about what the other team is doing. I'm seeing some guys that think they can pull out wins without playing a whole lot of team defense.
I'm confused. Didn't the GSW's win the championship last year or did some other team beat them? I'm pretty sure they won, but they don't seem to play the kind of defense against that weak assed isolation ball like that against LeBron and Irving.
My team needs to think about playing team ball but in a way that they use their heads. This isn't a game to see which pair of guards is better than that pair of guards. It's a game of our team is better than your guards. Come on Klay, that kind of movement on the basketball floor will beat some teams, probably most, but it won't work if your heart isn't in it. Where's the heart? GSW's need to check to see if they want this year or are they willing to hear how CP3 and James Hardin beat the best team in basketball. As a team player, I'm bummed.
