I had the distinct and absolute pleasure of meeting with and talking to Lore Heavlin, the mother of slain 19 year old, Erin Corwin, last night while I was working. People, if you want to know the definition of a strong mother, this is the one. Ms. Heavlin was putting some stuff away last night and she asked me if I knew who her daughter was. She told me that her daughter was the girl that a marine killed then threw down a mineshaft out her in the 29 Palms area. It has been the subject of Dateline 20/20 and many other "true crime" shows, but there is a lot more to the grieving mother of a slain daughter, she's way better than I thought.
My first instinct was to give her a hug which she was obviously use to receiving.
If you don't recall the story of Erin Corwin, she was the 19 year old from Tennessee that was living with her new husband at the Marine Corp base here. I, obviously working on my own case, spend a lot of time watching and learning from these stories. Erin was married, having an affair, her mother said she was "lead to believe" this man loved her and when she turned up pregnant, he took her to a mine shaft, strangled her and threw her down a 140' mine shaft.
The story made national news headlines everywhere. When they found the body of Erin, it took 20 minutes to have her killer, Brandon Lee, arrested and charged with murder. He received a life sentence for the crime and has exhausted his state appeals, so only a federal appeal remains. I assured her that I've worked in the federal court and that appeals are long but they do eventually run out.
Ms. Heavlin was in town to put some flowers on a make shift memorial where people can have a seat and look directly at the mine shaft where Erin died. She handed me a note that she intended to leave at the site and it was about her daughter and this horrible crime. What a nice woman! She wanted people to know that her daughter, if anything, was fooled by Christopher Lee and that she was a good girl in a bad circumstance. I was inspired by her strength and her wisdom. Gone is the bitterness of the murder, she's forgiven Brandon, she says that Erin and she will be together again, but her life has taken a different turn. She's more about loving her daughter than the past. I actually felt like I got to know Erin better than what the media made her out to be. She was a huge animal lover that really was just a girl out of her element.
I was inspired by her knowing that she is not the last mother of a victim that I will ever have to talk to. She's the first in a long line of mothers, fathers, and siblings that I will have to sit with and comfort. It is a role I am looking forward to. It is something that I am all about. This crime of electronic harassment, intentional infection, implantation and civil rights, has so many facets that you literally have to pick a crime and go with the one that is the easiest to prove. Below you will see the two men that I recommend.
I also want everyone to know that sometimes you will hear things about these victims that aren't easy to swallow, but you have to understand the pressure you are put under when the cops refuse to help, help out the criminals and there is nobody left to turn to. I came to this area, after resigning my position, to look for the person responsible for my stalking, shooting, rape and infection. I found her. Now it is time to put the evidence to the test. I am 100% confident that the SDPD have the information that they need with my friend Ken Davenport, to identify this criminal and to bring them to justice. I am certain that all it will take is a search of phone records and texts. I know that my shooting will be solved.
Lori will try to contact these two prosecutors now, but I know for certain, that what I know is far better than what she does. Look at that restraining order after Sedona and then ask yourself, are these the actions of an innocent woman? Shane Harrigan is not stupid.
This is a case of an obsessed girl that has done everything she could to stalk and follow me my whole life. When one brick falls, the whole wall will crumble in on her.
