PRO-140 HIV MONTHERAPY
For those of you that are looking for a new therapy that doesn't require pills, there is a new treatment at the Desert AIDS Project being tested. PRO140 is now being tested. Palmtree Clinical Reasearch Inc is now testing the drug on patients with an undtectable viral load. It replaces your entire HIV regimen with one weekly shot. There is a $50 stipend for every weekly visit. One shot per week. Monthly blood draws are required to see how the drug effects you. The study requires a 58 week participation. You get the drug for free after the study is completed.
It is experimental and the drug is used as a cancer treatment. The benefit, of course, is a new "no pill" once a week treatment. It is risky because of it's use being tested. This could be the new serum that they are looking to use. Always hopeful for something easier to fight the virus.
