There Never Has Been Room At That Inn...But A Miracle Still Happened!

Yes, I was turned away at the inn.  I needed the safety of some place for me and my family for a very long time, but it wasn't ever available for me.  Instead, like Mary and Joseph, we made due.  Tonight celebrates the birth of the Christ Child, the most important birth ever.  The story is important for so many reasons, but I like it because it is so humble and pure.  It is beautiful.  The ignorance of the wealthy inn keeper that couldn't understand the miracle of the birth of Christ and the wisdom of Mary and Joseph to birth the child in a manger.  More pure, more simple...most appropriate.

Wise men came and sought him out and brought him gifts.  A star shone down upon him from the heavens and the birth of Christ is what Christmas is all about.  Jesus came to us this Christmas Eve...and the world was a better place for it.

You see, the birth of Christ isn't about the wealthy and uncaring, it is for the poor and down trodden.  A miracle for the needy and the underprivileged, a message of hope for everyone else.  It's the death of Christ that's for EVERYONE, but the birth of Christ is for those that need hope.  Wealthy people always have hope...or they think they do.  In this world at this time they think hope comes with money.  I disagree.  I think that is a hopeless way of thinking.  The "no room" for people like you is elitist and as old as time.  We all end up in the same place...its how you live this life that is the measure of the man or woman.  It's not how much money you have...how you made it can be just as important as how many checks you wrote or whom you wrote them to.

I guess my point is this.  I would rather put my faith in a miraculous manger than an elite inn, if the message is hope that ends in forgiveness for ALL MANKIND.  The message is a simple one.  The life born out of that circumstance became the example for forgiveness of humanity for their sins.  The life led by the child born to the virgin in that manger became the example for thousands of years of faith and forgiveness.

It's Christmas eve and time to remember that the birth of the Christ Child was for the poor and hopeless...so that humanity could eventually be forgiven.

Merry Christmas everyone, God bless all of you.
