I wanted to take a second to let our friend James Franco know that I got a chance yesterday to watch his film biopic "King Cobra" yesterday starring Christian Slater, Garrett Clayton, Keegan Allen and James himself. The movie also has Molly Ringwald and Alica Silverstone, so we're talking one really big start studded cast. It's a true crime movie about the gay porn industry and one man whom created porn from his home and stars from his bedroom. A murder story that I've actually seen more of in my real life than I care too.
First of all, not an easy movie to make. Second, kudos to everyone with the courage to make it. Third, incredibly accurate depiction of characters that I've seen in our community and know all too well. James, the movie is good. I wanted to let all involved know that it is what goes on in this world right next door to your own homes. You don't know it is happening, but it is there. Take it from the guy that knew Andrew Cunanan (DaSilva), whom has two friends brutally murdered besides the Cunanan saga in San Diego (Lincoln Aston and Rob Johnson), the gay community can be a really dangerous place. I'm really happy to see James has the courage to make this film and his jaunt into our community for a true crime movie.
The story is worth telling and there are thousands more. Our little story here isn't any small task either...wouldn't mind James having a part in it either. Courage like his should be rewarded and our story is worth the Franco brothers...seriously.
