The most important step you'll ever take toward success is the first one. Inevitably it will lead you into a direction of your goal. Lots of people have understood that I've taken a long time to build this case with a whole lot of silence until I was prepared. I didn't make a huge deal about it until I was brutally raped then discarded by the police and the local hospital with injuries that could not be ignored by the victim. There were shots for STD's, tests for diseases that came directly from the rape (there are lab test before and after the rape that show when the infections occurred), there were the nights that I couldn't sleep because of the unbearable pain inside of my skull that felt like a hot air balloon about to explode. You see, I knew I'd been severely beaten, but I had no idea how hard the police would work to keep it that way.
Then I got smart. When I realized the game that they were playing with my life, I decided to look at other people's lives and what had been done to them. My life was going to be thrown away, that was clear. I went to the parents of the victims that I knew wouldn't tolerate what was going on with their kids. I knew that if I could make their lives important, then mine could matter too. Maybe.
I took lots of sacrificial hits that will make sense in the future. Sentences that were illegal. Punishments that were unbearable. Coverups that were obvious. Threats that were written and posted on my doors...I took it. I took every nightmarish hit I could take because each one leads to a path of coverup and scandal that can not be disproven. It is a long path to justice in the Coachella Valley. It almost never gets there for the victims of electronic harassment. I waited until I was ready to use another investigation to expose this one. I used the San Diego shooting to expose the Palm Springs rape. Same people, same kind of crime, no cover ups allowed. It took the sacrifice to get the runner home. That's what you have to do in a case like this. You have to bleed for justice. I've bled enough.
What Laurie hasn't told police or most of you is the background work that I did just prior to leaving Palm Springs. The calls to the U.S. Attorneys that referred me to the U.S. Attorney in the Western District. You see when you know someone is following you and blocking your progress, the smartest thing to do is to call lawyers, prosecutors and DEA agents so that they can keep a record of the "woman that calls and pretends she is a police officer." You see you need credible witnesses on the stand later for the purpose of proving that someone knows things that she couldn't possibly know. Those calls were made without anyone around. Laurie, pretending to be "Rae Dallas" or "Rae Fernandez" Special Agent for the PSPD, is exactly what I needed her to do. I know Laurie's actions always follow mine. I am certain, if called upon, that several U.S. Attorneys from the Major Crimes unit of the U.S. Attorneys Office are credible witnesses. They know I told them about something strange happening in Palm Springs with the police...and now, over time, we can show what they've done. It's really a brilliant plan. Thanks for your help Laurie, you are truly an idiot. I count on that every day.
