There is a certain amount of responsibility that goes along with being an informant, boyfriend, family member, witness, victim and advocate and that responsibility doesn't always fit with how the reaction will be for everyone. I've told you all that I am a peaceful warrior, but what I really am is a peaceful revolutionary. It is important in every way, as I walk through mine fields with magnets for shoes, that you all remember, I don't want any of you to commit an act of crime or violence against Laurie or the operators of this system. It's important because I think that doing so would not stand for what I do.
I believe in our justice system and way of life differently than most because I saw it working many times, perfectly, until I came here. There is a huge problem with electronic harassment and our area is full of victims of a crime of rape and human experimentation. Men have died because of it and I would be irresponsible if I told you that parents of these men might be a bit more angry than others when they find out why this happened. So it is important to realize that people that commit these crimes should have their day in court, not in confrontation. I am dealing with a crime that has a lot of victims in a situation that will cause a lot of inflammatory debate as to how it should be handled. The one way that I DON'T WANT IT HANDLED IS WITH VIOLENCE! I know that there are people out there that have wanted to get their hands on Lisa and her brother for a very long time. I know how angry the two of them can make people. I want to "take proper care" to ensure their safety as we get closer to having them questioned.
This have been a crime of identity. Many gay men have seen, met or had dealings with the woman that I call Laurie/Lisa, but she has gone by many names over the years. People wonder why it is that I don't put her face on the news or on flyers everywhere and it is because of her safety. There is so much emotion that surrounds what she and her brother have done that some people may want to be violent, I want to make sure that I live up to my responsibility to keep that from happening. The violence response has nothing to do with sexuality, religious preferences or race, it is violent because of the nature of the crime. Infection and implantation is horribly invasive; coupled with stalking and false arrests...could make parents or friends want to act out. My team does not want any person to act out violently. It defeats our purpose for justice and due process, not to mention every person is innocent until proven guilty.
Laurie has a tendency to act like she is beyond consideration for something like this, yet even if she wasn't the person, she still can't recognize that my broken skull is the result of a crime...regardless of whom you are, that is a fact. She doesn't like it because if it is a crime, then there must be a criminal to be found.
The flip side of this coin is that I have so many friends that are already victims of this crime because they knew me that I feel it is my responsibility to protect them from what I know to be the case. I know that if I don't say anything that more of my friends will be infected and the already victimized will become more endangered. I have a responsibility to tell them whom she is and how I know her. It's a fine line because many of these men and women have had their safety compromised and their lives endangered with constant threats of violence or worse from Laurie. So what to do?
The answer is to "take proper care" to inform all of you that regardless of what the criminal feels is harassment, I have a responsibility to my own family, friends and public to inform you that this is a dangerous situation that could get worse. Try walking that tightrope with a criminal that has ties to law enforcement, district attorneys and a commissioner's secretary or two. It isn't easy. I know that in a normal situation I would have taken a different path, but I still have to answer to the judge that knowingly or unknowingly sentenced hundreds of gay male victims of this crime. You want him to rule against himself? Been there, done that. It doesn't work very well.
So the best that I can do, for now, is to "take proper care" to warn you that this is what is going on...I know whom she is and what she's done...and tell you to give peace a chance so that the justice system can correct what it got wrong so many times in the past. That's how it works.
For those of you that want more information...it's all here, you have to use your best judgment to figure it out for now. I'm sure you can. It's not rocket science.
Lastly, I recently saw an interview with Kim Goldman, sister of O.J. Simpson case brother Ron Gold man whom was killed during the murder of O.J.'s wife. Kim, obviously a member of the Goldman family that believed that O.J. was guilty beyond all reasonable doubt once had the chance to see O.J. after the not guilty verdict. She was in a parking lot, in a car, and O.J. was standing not far away from her. She thought to herself, "I could step on the gas and run him over and be done with it", but made a different decision knowing the outcome of that kind of action. She opted to drive away. Later O.J. would be sentenced to 15 or more years in jail for a case in Las Vegas. Apparently, "getting away with it" or getting a not guilty verdict in a huge murder case, did not keep him from committing more crimes...he's now in jail. There is justice for those who wait. Please wait some more.
