Stockholm Syndrome and the Victims of Electronic Harassment in Palm Springs, Calfornia

There is one type of mental illness that accompanies electronic harassment that I think that the victims of this crime, the friends of Laurie and Brian LaTweek and even certain officers of the Palm Springs Police Department share.  It's called "Stockholm Syndrome" and it is something that I have been looking in to for a long time.

I have always believed that the image of a man with his hands tied behind his back, mouth taped and kept in a dark room is an image that is very close to what it feels like to be a victim of this crime.  A victim, like myself, can spend decades being conditioned for this kind of psychoses by these criminals and there are different stages of grooming for what Laurie and Brian ultimately seek...a compliant, devoted, hopeless, slave...that will do anything that Laurie forces them to do, with the police as the threat hanging over their heads.  Never have I heard of a single brother and sister that need to have a group of slaves so controlled that they will literally do anything to keep the two of them from "killing their families".  This concept of, "we (meaning Laurie and her brother) could kill your family" is drilled into the victims of this crime over and over again.

When you are like me, a victim of a drive by shooting, this kind of threat, coupled by a bumbling group of police officers that can't even investigate a sexual assault properly, it becomes a matter of what to believe or not.

Some people completely reject the idea and some decide to be compliant for their own safety.  Who is wrong and who is right?  I've seen both turn out with jail sentences for either decision.  If you fight against her, you get arrested and falsely accused.  If you comply, you progress towards what is known as "Stockholm Syndrome" where the victim of this crime literally complies with Laurie's criminal requests as a way to protect themselves.

The most famous case of this is Patty Hearst...
