I would like to show all of you just how far forensic DNA technology has come...welcome to 23andMe...one of the first DNA home extraction kits that can show you a whole lot about who you are, what you are predisposed for in terms of health and where you came from. For Lisa this would apply as to lineage (whom her mother and father are), what her heritage is (we've heard French for years) and what she is predisposed for in terms of disease. Now this lab isn't isolating the HIV virus, but it does give you all an idea of how easy and inexpensive it now is to look at the basics of DNA. In our investigation we go a bit deeper with my team with the BEST LAB in the world. We can afford to use this independent lab, most of you can't right now...but this is a high priority situation looking for someone intentionally infecting strangers with a variety of STD's, all of which are deadly without proper medical attention.
23andMe is a genetics lab that takes your own saliva swabs from home and $99 you can find our a myriad of detailed things that previously could not be known. It's a bit like Gattica in terms of knowing things about a person...and it is voluntary.
My team deals with crime scenes...that means any kind of fluid, blood, vaginal secretions, fingerprints and "hard evidence" (receipts, boxes, chemicals and such) left behind are considered "abandoned" by the law....and there for the collecting. These are tested so that eventually a warrant for a suspect's DNA can be sought based on the evidence presented....this happens all the time.
For $99 you get a DNA swab that is sent to their lab then tested for 240+ health related conditions, your family lineage and updates on DNA advances for the treatment and study of diseases....and that's the very most basic kit.
The reports on ancestry look like this...it gives a straight percentage of what a person's DNA shows...those percentages are unique to the donor in terms of the provider of the sample and can be enough evidence to seek a search warrant for blood and DNA.
This is what the donor's report can give...and as you can see the percentages are very specific. Finding a suspects blood everywhere with the same percentages is another way to secure a warrant based on a specific profile.
We have lots of blood evidence, saliva evidence, tissue evidence and other forensic pieces of evidence including HIV from the suspect and from victims that is being used to match the victim to the suspect via their blood. The next step is to get a warrant for the suspect's blood based on where the evidence was found and whom it is likely to belong to.
I am posting this today so that everyone can see that DNA has come a long way in terms of cost and data. We are using the world's best genetic laboratory for crime in terms of it's procedure, cleanliness, data, scientist reputation and education. We are making no mistakes in our forensic crime fighting. 23andme is a great example of a professional lab. Our lab has to meet much higher standards because they are often used in criminal prosecution cases where their integrity of the lab is often questioned without procedural difficulties....in other words, their lab is the cleanest and most widely accepted as the standard. We can afford it for our friends.
The CDC will also be interested in the isolated HIV strain of RED-YELLOW-BLUE because BLUE is unique to herself and continues to be the last donor to the HIV virus that seems to be infecting the E.H. victims....these victims don't know her in a sexual manner or in terms of anything that would introduce her blood to theirs. She is an unknown...a BLUE WIDOW. She is female with a specific family line that can easily traced by our lab just like 23andMe's lab....and a whole lot more specific. The odds of this woman sharing all of these traits especially with her own DNA is astronomically infinitely impossible to be anyone but her....it just isn't possible that there would be anyone else like her anywhere in the past (which is impossible) or the future (which is also impossible) There is only one BLUE WIDOW...and we are narrowing the field of suspects based on where she has lived and when she was there.
