One of the innovative ways that my team is tracking the victims and criminals involved in this crime use to be like sticking a poster board full of post it notes, until the list of victims grew exponentially. Once the "Book of Slaves" (the complete list of victims and RFID chip numbers) and the "Book of Shadows"(the complete list of police officers and their RFID chip numbers) were recovered, we embarked on finding a computer program that would allow us to input information into a computer data base that would connect like path crossings and relationships to one another.
These two hand written logs provide much more information about the victims and whom the criminals contacted, whom they were friendly with, their dates of implantation and infection and so much more....clicking on a relationship provides my team with a quick glance of their torture and a brief history of their victimization.
It looks like this:
To get an idea of how it works, I will use this example...this format shows whom is tracking a computer user on his own computer, but the program can also be used like a police crime board like you see on SVU. The programmer simply takes the data from the books penned by Laurie and inputs the information for that victim into cells designated for certain things like, date of "hook up" or date of infection...then the computer relates these victims to other victims as the notes dictate. What you get is a moveable program that shows the inter connections between victims and cops and others.
In this example the computer is using tracking cookies to relate sites to the user's computer. In our investigation we input the victim's information and the computer does the relations for us.
