How many times have you ever felt that Laurie is talking to you about something so that she can bring something else up? For example, she wants to know about one of your friends so she starts talking about where they work or one of their other friends, hoping to guide the conversation, eventually, in the direction she wants.
Today she's doing a lot of talking about Tracy Johnson, which usually means she wants to talk about Jonathan Mendenhall. She must be pretty mad at him too, because the "Tracy's" just keep on coming. If she gets really desperate, she'll tell everyone to call her Tracy. It's all about evoking a response using word associations.
You also see it using nick names. "The Silver Fox" (Bryan Anderson) or "Sally Dallas" for (Rae Fernandez)...and so on. This is how she passive aggressively tries to irritate people that are "required" to listen to her. The "requirement" is what she tells people when she informs them about this system. The rule is: YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT I SAY AND DO. Perfect rule for an informant's team I'd say.
So, as the rest of the night will be about something else that she's trying to beat someone up with mentally, I will leave you all with this comment.
Laurie is a nosy busybody; you don't ever have to think the truth to her, she won't know the difference.
