The press called them the "Roofie Romeos" but that hardly expresses the monsters that the Spitzer Twins were in Los Angeles when they would lure their female victims into meeting them, drugging them, sexually assaulting them and videotaping the whole thing. Eventually it was their egos that made them so sinister.
When looking at the electronic harassment situation here in Palm Springs, one has to remember that all of the gay male victims and female victims were drugged and implanted. Nobody consented to being followed. In many cases there were sexual assaults, bloody sheets, bite marks and evidence both photographic and videotaped. What does it take for a sister and a brother to get to the point where sex and drugs became the most important things in their lives. Memorializing these conquests with photographs and videotapes and the bravado it takes to try to hire Anthony Dabiere to market some of them. This is a great ID Network show on "Evil Twins" that shows some of what it must be like to be Laurie and Brian.
When I first saw this I immediately thought of our case on some level. These twins felt themselves as "porn stars"...would be actors and Hollywood producers. Models...but society did not see them the way that they wanted to be seen. Their story is a good one for the Palm Springs Police Department to see.
We, the victims, have been turned into reluctant pornographic actors without our permission...the thought of someone getting off on my sexual assault or encounters with other people is a scary thought. Also scary is what police officers have done off duty without their wives....it's none of our business, but when it is held over our heads because of what she saw, then we have an interest. I know that the police didn't fully understand what they entered in to, but now they do. This situation needs to be exposed.
