If you have ever seen "American History X" you know that you have seen one Hell of a movie. I think that this electronic harassment situation does have some relevance to what we are dealing with here in Palm Springs, California. I'll go on record saying that I absolutely love Ed Norton. The guy knows what it takes to make me watch a movie. From "The Painted Veil" to "Primal Fear" to "Fight Club", you know you are watching one of Hollywood's most intelligent actors picking up roles that are different, challenging and mind altering. "AHX" is probably my favorite and one that, I think, has so much relevance to the pervasive attitudes of racist people and the way their thought process can change simply by looking at the actions of their own people. If you've never seen it, put it in, stick with it, and you'll see exactly what I mean.
From the time that I read a comment posted after I did a television interview with Nathan Baca on a gay male rapist(s) intentionally infecting members of the gay community, I knew that someone has the wrong concept of rape out there. The comment paraphrased was, "...'cmon Kevin, even losers get raped" and was contradicted by the same commentator saying..."you couldn't get raped in a Turkish prison" (not that I'd want to be.) This last comment is in reference to the classic "Midnight Run" movie which I also liked very much. Prophetically the comment went on to say that REAL rape victims (as if I wasn't one and would go to the trouble to go on television and air my own business like rape is something to be cherished) can always utilize the police department and hospital; the exact two places that fucked my case up. Prophetic or confessional? You decide. That's for another post, but tonight I want to take a look at two things: Laurie's "Jailhouse Sex Parties" and the least kind cut of all to our gay community, gay rapists for gay victims. It's a sad commentary that should be shown.
The concept of "AHX" is about hate driven by a white supremacist who sees his community of Venice, California being "overtaken" by the black community that he hates. Initially I was taken back by the violence at the beginning and thought it to be shocking. Let's face it though, this is the kind of thing that the black community has known for years and showing the curbside assault of a would be robber was necessary to make the films' point. Ed Norton's character, driven by his hate, kills the man and goes to jail where he thinks his white supremacist brethren will protect him from the interracial prison population.
As he strikes up a cautious friendship with a black prisoner in the laundry, his white supremacist gang members rape Ed's character in the shower (above), showing that the worst of his own fears became a reality within his own belief system and community. Rape being the equalizer of racial tension between the white supremacist and his feelings about blacks. No longer did an ideal keep him safe. People that thought like he did, could commit crimes just as horrible or worse than people he hated. An enemy dressed as a friend. This is what we are dealing with in this crime. Gay on gay sexual assaults and intentional infections. It's a sad commentary on the state of affairs in our city.
Strangely enough the evidence alleges that a female and a male are responsible for the implantation and infections in our community. The commentary of the article shown on the news would lead me to believe that someone out there thinks of rape as a positive sexual experience; a sort of fantasy played out with a victim that has a broken skull. Not exactly what I was looking for with that news piece. Nothing hurts our community more than reinforcing the stereotypes perpetuated by Laurie and Brian in the heads of the police officers that have listened to her for years. Rape is a violent act. It isn't sexy. It isn't funny. It wasn't my intention to go on television and look like I was bragging about being raped. Not at all. I was trying to empower other gay men and women in our area that have also been raped and implanted (not in the story) to come forward and tell their stories.
Doug M., in one of my questionnaires, told of falling asleep and waking up with bloody sheets and a dildo still engaged in his rectum with no memory of the assault. Still hearing voices, he's doing fine. I just spoke with him recently. I will remind all of you that just after talking to me, Doug was arrested on a DUI charge while officers waited for him outside of a home. Is this another example? Doug also goes on to talk about how his operators, a man and a woman, talked about me and told him that if he wanted this torture to stop, he would have to pay them money. Schizophrenics aren't usually subject to their personalities extorting money from themselves. That's not par for the course. Targets in our area are frequently the victims of extortion, threats and harassment as a way of enforcing their compliance. I've become almost useless as an investigator as my reputation grows the victims are threatened not to talk to me fearing repercussions. These penalties can be physically inflicted, sleep deprivation, work threats, threats to family and, of course, police action to stop them from coming forward.
Perhaps what the gay community fears the most should be focused on our own members, as it seems that they work in sync with officers from the police force. It is hard to deny the connection between officers and victims when they share the same technology. So whom is the middle person taking information from one and giving it to the other? Logic would dictate that it is the same people implanting the chips in both. That would mean that the people doing the implantation of the cops are likely suspects in the infections, implantation and rapes of gay men and women. At least they can't be ruled out! They should be brought in for questioning. Laurie and Brian like to tell police that "other operators" are doing this. My interviews with other operators show a very strict rule system that only allows Laurie and Brian this kind of control and the only two in the area with these tracking devices. Some operators have the program on their computers, but none have the devices that these two do to complete the "hook up". Our information is that these devices were once used to track hogs and livestock. A connection between Laurie and Brian must therefore be made between the two...or a connection between the chips and their custody of them.
This brings me to Officer Randy Tackett. Now before he starts to worry about what I'm going to say about him, he shouldn't ever worry. I've talked to many of my friends that are arrested and electronically harassed, they all like Officer Tackett. By and large he looks like he's in on whatever's going on, but he sure doesn't look like he thinks it is a good idea. Most of the time when I was in front of him, he looked like he kind of felt sorry for me. I don't have any way of knowing if that is true or not, but a kind face was good to see in the midst of the other joking officers that were humiliating me. He looked like he knew what his job was, and he didn't want to do whatever Laurie was telling him. I can respect that. I think he could recognize that in me too. Perhaps Laurie was talking to him before I got there...I was an emotional wreck and I am sure that I looked every bit the part of the drug addict she'd created in his mind. (BTW, I was tested for drugs, there were none in my system, just extreme sleep deprivation)
The reason I'm bringing this person up is because he was there on several occasions that I was arrested for being under the influence and once for no reason at all. The first time I was brought to jail wearing only a towel. No charges were being filed because the homeowners knew I'd been raped and they knew me, so my presence there at all was illegal. While being transported to the PS Jail for booking, Laurie was telling me that this was some kind of "jailhouse sex party" and that it wasn't the real thing. She must have known that charges weren't being pressed, but didn't mention that to Officer Tackett. She told me that there was some kind of weird "sex party" planned in the jail and the officer, Andre, that arrested me was laughing and joking the whole way to the station. At one point she wanted me to proposition Officer Tackett, which I refused to do. I can't impose my sexuality on a officer and it was hardly a "sex situation", but once again, what is terror for us (like rape) is sexual for her.
Laurie told me about "the old Palm Springs Jail" and I'd never been arrested so I didn't know if there was one or not. She acted like an officer was going to transport me to this "old Palm Springs jail"...after I was released, I am assuming. What I am alleging now is that somewhere, perhaps in a storage unit, she has a human cage. She also has at her disposal, perhaps in the custody of David Beach, it has been suggested, an unmarked police-looking car. I've also seen fake PSPD uniforms too. I am thinking that she was planning on having that car come to pick me up with someone wearing a uniform to take me to this location where she would lock me up and torture me. This may sound odd, but it is true. There have been storage units used by Laurie and Brian to house stolen items. What I am wondering now is, is this something that she may have done to someone else? All of the other schemes that I've been through have been substantiated and used before...what did she do to the other person after he was falsely imprisoned in that cage; "the old Palm Springs Jail".
There were two young booking officers in the PS Jail, Officer Tackett and another guy, both were really nice to me. I know that they knew something was up. Officer Tackett must have been waiting for something to book me on, but there couldn't have been anything that night in the towel. I would like to ask him if he remembers. He seemed really upset at Laurie. Not at me. I wanted to extend my hand to him to say thank you for showing the concern in your eyes. I remember you looking in my cell door and I saw the concern for my safety in your eyes. I know you wanted to help. Thank you for caring. You are a good officer despite the circumstances.
I also wanted to see how many other gay men were asked to proposition these two young officers? How many men did? I want them to know that we didn't do that because of our own volition, we were forced. Jail is not a sex place and we're terrified by the time we get there. Please understand that not all gay men are looking to be that kind of obnoxious, my friends are the last people on Earth to do these kinds of things.
This enforces a negative gay male stereotype. What they were seeing in that booking area was Laurie's sexuality with her brother playing out through our mouths, but not something we wanted to do. We were promised that the joke would end once we repeated her words, it only got worse.
I want to share my sorrow and sympathy for these two booking officers because they were put in an impossible situation too. The looks on their face were that of confusion and some fear. I know they were being told what to do instead of doing what they knew they should. Laurie likes to tell them that she is the "commanding officer" here and that she will talk to their supervisors if they don't comply. I think at one point Officer Tackett was going to let me out because he knew something was wrong. I could only see his eyes, but they were sorrowful and very sympathetic. I'm no mind reader but he wanted me to know he understood in a way that most officers don't.
Perhaps I should have told you what Laurie was saying to me, Officer Tackett, I wasn't trying to set up a sting on you and your other officer. I'd never really been arrested. I was super scared and didn't think you would believe me. I apologize for not returning your look of concern for me. You seem cool.
Alvin Tellez, was like Grandpa Munster, he scared me and took great joy in locking me up without anything to charge me with...he was definitely in on the bad joke.
