I once signed up for a new Verizon Wireless account that was $24/month for some outrageous number of calls I could make but would never come close to. In the past, I was on a friends/family line with my parents for only $5 extra per month on their line but something strange kept happening...I would get a call from my mom saying, "why are you texting so much" and I knew I hadn't texted at all. I would tell her that and she would tell me some outrageous charge for my number for texts that I'd never even sent. That's when I decided to get my own cell phone. Thinking I'd never use the allotted amount and having rollover minutes...$24/month was no problem.
Then it happened!!!
The first bill was $800!!! For one month of service!!! I didn't even come close to that amount of time in calls, but someone had used my number portably and rang the bill up to that astronomical amount. Verizon, of course, didn't have any way to explain it and the forced me to pay the bill. The next month came $600 was the total and that was when I cancelled the account. It was highway robbery because the Verizon billing system isn't paying attention to someone changing the number I was assigned to another phone that was being used while I wasn't using it...then, when I was awake, the operator, from her home, would change it back.
This is more domestic terrorism...and Lisa is behind all of it.
If you have had an outrageous phone bill like this, you need to report it to Verizon and tell them that you will not pay this bill until they find out whom is moving your number and from where. You have the right to file a complaint against the company for these kinds of violations of their own security. This is one way that Laurie tries to punish our families financially for supporting us. I know what happened to me.
You can also tell Verizon that you don't want your number to be portable...and make sure you get it in writing. This will keep Laurie from moving your number and having you charged $1800 a month for phone service.
