The closest misandryst figure that I can find in Woman Lore for Muffy McFarland is the abominable Ms. Valarie Soalanas. Best known for her book "SCUM Manifesto" the "Society for Cutting Up Men" Valarie is best known for shooting gay icon Andy Warhol nearly killing him even though Andy offered her acting roles in two films.
A lesbian prostitute whom sought fame through her hatred of men, and I am assuming gay men in particular, this is the closest version of Muffy McFarland that I have found, although I don't believe that Valarie tortured gay men for years and stalked people that she knew.
"I hate men" was her mantra, the same one shared by Muffy McFarland.
She did eventually go to jail for shooting Warhol...
To her credit, at least Valarie was educated and could write...and she did admit to her crimes...I guess some lesbians don't have to hide in the closet.
After her release from prison, according to Robert Marmorstein in 1968, "[s]he has dedicated the remainder of her life to the avowed purpose of eliminating every single male from the face of the earth" I doubt that the prosecutor ever jailed Mr. Marmorstein for saying that....I don't expect to be either.
